Departments: Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy

Our Vision: "To provide rehabilitation
services to people with disabilities or at risk of disabilities."

The team consists of 2 Physiotherapists, 1 Physiotherapy assistant and 2 Occupational Therapists.

An occupational Therapist

We treat a wide range of conditions including orthopaedics, neurology respiratory diseases, sports injuries, paediatrics and geriatrics. Intervention takes place on an individual level or in groups (e.g. ante-natal and post-natal classes, chronic pain management, Mseleni Joint Disease classes and classes for children with cognitive impairment and cerebral palsy) as inpatients, outpatients, at residential clinics or at home where necessary. We also hold monthly audiology, speech therapy and prosthetics and orthotics clinics. We support the local special school and integration of children with disabilities into mainstream schools.

The workload is shared between team members and each one gets the opportunity to cross traditional professional borders and learn more through role expansion, striving to look holistically at each client.

On a district level the 5 hospitals support each other and do rehabilitation planning together in collaboration with representatives from local Disabled People Organisations.
